Hello, and welcome to my studio

Anna Goss, potter at Anna Goss Ceramics, smiling while working on her pottery wheel, shaping clay into a pot with her hands, inside her pottery studio.

Hi, I’m Anna, a potter working from my cosy garden studio in Bristol. I make wheel thrown, small batch ceramics for everyday living; simple, calm forms that are beautiful to look at, comfortable to hold, and made to stand up to daily use. You’ll find mugs, vases, oil bottles, butter dishes, and small everyday pieces for the home, including tealight holders, soap and trinket dishes, and spoon rests.

I grew up in a small Staffordshire village, surrounded by the rich heritage of British ceramics shaped by names like Wedgwood, Royal Doulton and Moorcroft. Those early influences, along with years of family stories from the pottery industry, quietly shaped my own creative path.

After a career in nursing and research, a taster session on the wheel rekindled a long held curiosity, and I’ve been happily covered in clay ever since. Studio classes led to a space of my own, where I work in small runs and enjoy the freedom to experiment.

A collage of four images showing where Anna gains her inspiration from. The photo's include a beach with ripples in the sand, a mug with ripple sides, a ceramic vase with ripples, and a spiral soap dish, all featuring beige and blue tones.

My pieces draw on calm natural forms, gentle textures and a soft, nature inspired palette gathered from travels across the UK, Australasia and Southeast Asia. Every piece is thrown, trimmed, glazed and fired by me, with the subtle variations that make handmade so special.

Sustainability matters to me. I reclaim clay in my studio and use carefully chosen, eco-friendly packaging to minimise environmental impact. Orders are packed with care and dispatched from Bristol, UK.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you find a favourite piece that becomes part of your everyday.
